Join SMC's Creative Writing Department in Hagerty Lounge for an afternoon reading and conversation with visiting writer Sara Borjas, author of Heart Like a Window, Mouth Like a Cliff (Noemi Press, 2019), as she discusses her art, life, and writing process. 

Sara Borjas is a Fresno poet and the author of Heart Like a Window, Mouth Like a Cliff (Noemi Press, 2019), winner of  the 2020 American Book Award. She was named one of Poets & Writers 2019 Debut Poets and received the 2014 Blue Mesa Poetry Prize. Sara has received fellowships from MacDowell, CantoMundo, and The Poetry Foundation. Her work has appeared in The RumpusThe Gettysburg ReviewPloughsharesCatapultAlta, and elsewhere.

Visiting Writer events at Saint Mary's are free, open to the public, and ADA Accessible. Visitor parking is available on campus and light refreshments will be served.
