Close Looking at Art

Seminar Enrichment Series

This workshop invites students to apply their Seminar reading skills to a new way of looking at visual art. Working in small groups, participants will examine artworks on loan from Saint Mary’s Museum of Art. The goal is to discover how close looking has its own logic, grammar, and rhetoric, paralleling the close reading of written texts.
